Not only is Taste of Tribeca lucky to have the support of so many of our local restaurants, we are also fortunate to partner with a few of our neighborhood’s best wine shops for our wine tasting tour. Chambers Street Wines, on Chambers between Hudson and Greenwich, specializes in organic wines from small, artisanal producers. They will be pouring a few of these wines at their store on Saturday between 2pm-7pm. Here is their line-up, including tasting notes:
- Parentière 2012 Fraîcheur Iodée L’Atlantique: A delicious, organic wine from the Loire Valley of France made from a grape called Gros Plante. Crisp, dry, and perfect for summer.
- Barou 2013 Vin de Pays Syrah: Syrah from a certified biodynamic estate in the northern Rhône Valley of France. Deep and dark, but still very fresh with a touch of earthiness.
- Defino 2012 Frappato: Made from organic Frappato grapes grown in Sicily, this is a light-bodied red wine that is great with all kinds of food and on its own, served slightly chilled.
- Ferme St. Martin 2014 Rosé: Made from organically grown Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault from the Côtes du Ventoux in the southern Rhône Valley. Has nice weight on the palate but is very dry with cherry fruit and great minerality.
